Topband: Selection of aluminum tube diameters for verticals?

Hi:

I am planning to build a vertical, either guyed or unguyed, something like
8-12m high (approx. 24-36 ft).  Are there any guidelines as to which
diameters and thicknesses of aluminum tubing I should use?  I would taper
the diameters down in 2-3 sections.

Is there any software available for this, or just simple formulas?  If not,
what about rules of thumb?
