I did some tests at VHF simulating these CFA antennas about 2 and a half
years ago, while still in ZS5 land. I reported the results on this
Reflector, and you may like to look up the original in the archives - I
don't even have it myself any more. It was in the first half of 1999 under
CFA.
My conclusion in a nutshell was that most of the radiation came from the
outer of the coax feed, and that the apparently good input impedance was due
to losses in the matching network.
I concluded that it was not worthwhile trying out these antennas for Topband
DX.
