On average, a Flag/Pennant/K9AY/Ewe type antenna is
going to work better for you-  *but*...

There are occasions when my K6STI hears the best or is
the only antenna that is hearing the DX. Although it is far
more impressive on 80m, it sometimes pleasantly
surprises me on 160. Other times, it is completely deaf
but my Flag is receiving a copyable signal.

Twice I have repaired the antenna after big tree branches
fell on it and broke the wire. I found it well worth keeping
around. It is good to have a large number and variety of
low noise rx antennas and some antenna switches.  :o)

Plan on using a good preamp for any of these types.

Of course, if you have room for Beverages, use them and
forget the others!  :o)   73, David K3KY
