Most everyone will tell you it doesn't matter! That said, it doesn't hurt ,so I do it (I've modeled it too, but am more interested in results than modeling).


Apparently it's hurting you and maybe the deer as well :) I very much doubt that you'll notice a difference if you remove the taper, and I would recommend it.

I have heck with deer tearing down my feed-end taper it seems like everyday. It must be right across their trail even thought it is mowed grass?
