IMHO....
Buried, short radials will work.  Multiple grounding rods, spaced
apart by their length is good.

I seem to have good results with about 10 radials, each 10'- 14' in length, with one ground rod in the middle. Mine lie on top of the ground or are buried 1" or so below the surface. I have found that the ones lying on the surface tend to bury themselves with time, as thatch and eventually sod, form over them.


Would be curious what results anyone else has had with a similar beverage grounding system.
