I would like to thank those who answered my question about the "sloper"
antenna. The antenna I made reference to appeared in QST March 1998. page 54.
Article was written my WD8DSB. He used his tower and said a tree could be used
to support the sloper. It consisted of a 90 turn coil on a 3/4 inch diameter
PVC with 68 feet 4 inches of antenna attached and fed with RG-58. The antenna
would not come close resonating in the 160 meter band. I wonder if a separate
wire was run down from the top and grounded if resonance could be achieved?
