Are they useful or only expensive toys ??

Very, very useful in an urban environment, I have used the MFJ 1025 and
1026 to great advantage in many noise saturated locations. Also they do
a great job of phasing beverages against the TX antenna or the other of
a staggered pair of beverages to 'steer' the null to notch out Yaesu
rigs in EU ;-)
Wish I still had one of the many from the past here in YB5, my Q rate
would probably double in an opening.
