1.  If you are only interested in EU, K9AY does not need to be rotatable.
2.  RDF pecking order (below) shows K9AY has about 3 dB better S/N.

3.  Anything is better than nothing!  And remember that all RX
antennas you mentioned are low-angle antennas compared to
your dipole.  There will be conditions (local QSOs, sunrise/sunset,
auroral disturbances) when your dipole is better than anything.
