I have a 450 foot beverage that points toward the US mainland. I use it on all bands between 15m and 160m for both local (NVIS) communication and DX. It is about 12 above the ground on bamboo poles. It has better S/N than my roof mounted steppIR vertical. I hear better than I transmit with 1000 W so I am not motivated to try lowering the antenna to improve performance.
