Pete, I just read your inquirery about BOG. I thought that I read somewhere that if it is laying on the ground, that changes its resonant freq. I would be very interested in what you find out and how it works. I have beverages in my pasture and the sheep break them once in a while. A BOG would help that. Not sure how to match and terminate it. I think that it would be different than one in the air.
