Hi Al,
Glad to make the contact with you. many are complaining about the band
being dead, but I am very close to salt water and that helps a lot.
Happy to QSL

Many thanks Bruce for the 160m CW QSO.
I nearly fell off my chair when you called me!
In fact, you are only the second USA station I’ve worked on 160m,
after decades of trying.
 Simple setup here - a Yaesu FTDx1200 with 100W and a vertical,
ground-mounted Hustler 6-band aerial that I’ve modified to work on
160m (plus quite a few buried radials in situ).
I’d be delighted to have your QSL card for this contact, and will
get in touch by post as per your QRZ.com page.
I’m a great fan of the wonderful state of Maine. I spent my
honeymoon there with my wife 25 years ago. My late father lived in
Norwalk, CT, so we had a superb drive from CT up to Acadia National
Park, where we stayed for a delightful week. I’m a student of the
American Civil War and greatly admire Joshua Chamberlain, having
visited Gettysburg and Bowdoin College.
Best 73 from Caversham, near Reading in Berkshire!
