Andy,
For years I have been using the Flex 6600 for diversity rx on 160m.
(in fact for the past 20 years I have used diversity RX using the K3 as well)
I will NEVER operate 160m unless using diversity RX.
In my opinion, if you are working weak signal 160m CW DX, you are at a serious
disadvantage if you do not at least experiment with diversity. Even if you only
have one RX antenna, you can still benefit from diversity with the TX antenna
in one ear, and the RX antenna in the other.
I have multiple RX antennas that can be selected for use in diversity.
However, I don’t really understand your question Andy.
Diversity RX on the Flex (or any other radio) is really “stereo diversity”,
meaning one RX channel in each ear, using a different antenna on each. Your
brain does the "diversity work” filling in the signal from each ear as
required. It really can be magical and very effective.
“Phasing from 2 antennas” with the NNC-1 boxes is a very different thing, and
mostly related to “beam forming” or pattern development and null steering.
(which I have also done).
