Hi Jeff...
Talk with the building inspector for your area, even if you are not required
to have him permit/inspect the tower... he will be a wealth of info on the
rebar cage requirements for the soil conditions in your area, as applied to
elevated structures... I'm not real fond of inspectors in general, but they
do have their uses... Especially if you have a loss in a tornado, etc., being
able to tell the insurance adjuster that the base met/exceeded the code can
be a real $ saver...
