There's an interesting article on page 3 of Thursday's USA
Today about how the proliferation of cellular phone towers
has heightened citizen opposition to towers in general.
Cities are being forced to draft tower ordinances to cope with
the issue. One city has declared a moratorium on all towers
until the ordinance is in place. There are pictures of a cell
phone tower disguised as a tree, and another disguised as a
replica of the Washington Monument. The article cites reason for
opposition as dangerous electromagnetic fields, property value
deterioration, and aesthetics. One cellular representative is
quoted as saying "zoning boards are getting tougher and tougher
and neighborhood people are getting meaner and meaner."

I hope a bunch of professional do-gooders don't see this article
and latch on to it as a cause for another crusade.
