Hi Martin: You've hit on the key phrase here.
When you say "Professional", you're talking about a man doing this
on a job for money. Not at his own home. We all do things differently
on our own towers, and other ham's towers. But - that is not doing it
professionally. Personally, on my own tower, I prefer using "Tower-Tape"
which is a uv resistant, filament tape. It makes a nice clean
installation and has none of the discussed problems, and costs very
little.
But - when I contract to do a job, the finished product is functional,
safe and looks good. It's the only thing a man has to sell. Anyone
can do a sloppy job!
