IMO Rustoleum is a typical hardware store 'homeowner's' product. A good
quality industrial, marine or cold galvanizing coating will probably do a
better job. I would suggest checking with industrial coating suppliers found
in your yellow pages or a marine products store. You can find both on the WWW.
Then follow their instructions. TOWER TECH has Klein cold galvanizing spray
paint.

As expensive as that mast is, are you sure you want to hack off five feet
of it?

I dunno - how do you hide the tower? If you're serious, some sort of sky
blue is probably the best.

I suppose you could pour paint through it. Or just leave it. If you cap
it, moisture will condense inside the mast and run down so you'll have water
running out of it whether it's capped or not. As long as the water can run out
the bottom, I wouldn't worry about it.
