Another thought:
If you are really concerned about the Landlords finding the remains of
your tower, (do they come by and see the tower in the first place?),
then you might want to buy a couple of railroad ties and make a raised
bed for some ACID loving plants like strawberries.

I think that everybody is forgetting that when you pour a base that
you should have approximately 6" to 12" of crushed rock at the bottom of
the hole.
This becomes a "DRY-WELL".
Under normal weather condx, the amount of moisture seeping into the
base hole is minimal, and the DRY-WELL should take care of the water and
dispense it slowly back into the soil. Under heavy weather condx or
continual flooding, if you live in an area as such, then you might want
to install a SUMP-PUMP to extract the excess water.

What happened to the LXC prime directive???? The Rohn specs for concrete
bases for bracketed, freestanding, and guyed towers call for at least
four inches of the base to be above grade. They also require the top of
the base outside the bolt circle (or equivalent for an imbedded base) to
be sloped for drainage. Any base poured below grade is effectively going
to become the bottom of a catch basin when it rains! Not the best way to
mitigate corrosion.
