Plumb Bob vs. Transit de N4KG

Frankly, I am amazed at this claim that a plumb bob caused
the top
of the described tower to be off plumb by 2 feet. Could
the transit
be the problem and not the plumb bob?

No, our transit is accurate.

You have obviously never lived where the trade winds blow
20+ day after week after month. Even with the bob in a
bucket of water, the line will deflect too much to be
usable.

What was surprising was how useless the 8' level on the
legs, while climbing up and down, turned out to be.
