No, no, you have it all wrong. This is America and if enough people
do it incorrectly, it eventually becomes valid. That's the "American
Way" and is why "payed" is now an acceptable variant of "paid." 
This is why you deplane from the aircraft at your destiantion 
(or when you have destinated, according to several conversations 
on the 2-metre band I've monitored). That is
probably why instalation and installation are both valid. No wonder
(American) English is so difficult to learn! It's almost like Calvinball.

Right on Stan!

When I first subscribed to some of  the ham reflectors, I cringed
at the misuse of the words THERE (location), THEIR (possessive),
and THEY'RE  (They Are).   The use of the word INSTALL (a verb)
in place of INSTALLATION has also caught my eye.

"They're  over  there  at  their  tower  installation."
