Lester,

Not sure what parameter you are referring to when you note that the ha;lf
square has a narrow bandwidth of less than 2-1.  The half square, when
used for its vertically polarized radiation, is a resonant antenna and has
an operating bandwidth adequate for covering any one of the hambands from
40 - 12 meters.  It can be fed at an upper corner for direct coax
cnnection.  It can also be fed at one of the lower ends via standard
voltage node methods, for example, a parallel tankcircuit with a coil tap
for the coax feed point.  Some users prefer the lower end of one vertical
for the convenience of its position and the ease of feeding the antenna as
a gneeral purpose antenna on higher bands.  Others who use the antenna as
a dedicated one-band antenna prefer the coax feed.  The feed method makes
no difference to the vertically polarized pattern.
