Jim,

I have an RV and an R5 vertical. I used a heavy duty door hinge and
bolted it to a 18inch
section of aluminum channel which was attached to the luggage rac (one
side of the hinge is now fixed and not movable).
Another section of channel is bolted to the movable section of the
hinge. To that movable section a piece of
pipe (mast) is u-bolted. The vertical is attached to the pipe.

The vertical lays out flat on the top of the RV while mobile, lashed
down to a pair of PVC
Ts that are used to mount and tie down the vertical. The Ts are are
silicon glued to the RV roof.

As described earlier...when I get portable I insert a section of
aluminum into the movable portion of the mast/hinge and pull the
vertical into operating position. The R5 is significantly heavier than
the HV6. It should be a snap to duplicate this assembly for a fixed
location w/HV6.

good luck,
dave
