David C. you're not the GOD of learning on this reflector. Just like
radio if you don't like what your read you can
A) it turn off your computer or B) hit the delete key...
My question was an honest knowledge seeking question. I've used wooden
dowel inside thin wall aluminum mast and had significant
success...better than either alone...I was really interested in knowing
whether anyone else has had similar experiences. I've seen what a
cardboard tube will support filled with air and filled with epoxy. Very
different results. I've seen the special air bubble impregnated alloy
metals NASA is planning to use to build the space station. I've seen
steel pipe bumper guards in parking lots filled with cement. So, based
on my experience I think I have a fair question.
LIKE YOU DAVE I WANT TO LEARN MORE...I APPOLOGIZE FOR NOT HAVING THE
SAME BACKGROUND
AND VAST KNOWLEDGE AS YOURSELF...didn't realize it was a prerequisite
for asking questions.
You can come in with your rude comments (it's a free country) but you
haven't taught anyone on this reflector anything about the subject, just
about your ability to communicate or lack of it!
If everyone had your perspective Dave nothing new would ever be
invented.

This response is absurd. Even if the mast were to be filled with
popcorn
it would receive a minuscule increase in strength.
Can we please stick with meaningful evaluations and avoid absurd
hyperbole,
some of us are here to learn and could be making choices that involve
serious money and safety!
