I had the same problem back in '92 and there is a simple solution.
Remove the mounting plate the T2X sits on and re-install it upside
down.  That gives you about an inch more clearance to get it in and
that's all you need.  Works like a charm.  I told the Rohn factory
about that and their response was "we'll look into it".  Never heard
back from them.  Could be later production towers have it fixed by
now.
