Hi all, I realize that my following opinion has nothing, directly, to do with
the scope of TTalk. The problem that has been noted about ham designed
software being copied, sold, etc. is certainly abhorant. A person's
credibility, honesty, ethics, whatever you want to call it is SOLELY
determined and controlled by that individual. Save a buck, no problem. Save
5 cents, no problem. This is why when we know something that is too costly
for most hams, we give alternatives, often that negate a sale. However,
integrity also is, in part, a ham's intention to try to recognize the value,
and the ethic, that the ham supplier is trying to provide his customers with.

I have had almost every ham dealer come to me for a couple of our trade
marked items out of respect, integrity and their good business sense that much
time and $ has been put into, design (in one case), advertising and market
recognition. Yet, I have had one competitor in the U.S. and one in Europe, put
the same or similar trade name, without the advantage of having my name, and
product, behind their copy cat product.
That's life in any business. My point here is, save a buck but also try to
determine what dealers are "sweatin" honestly to try to do right by customers
and which ones could care less but "stage a front".
We, as many other dealers who make a living out of this market, can not do so
by the ham market alone. All we ask is that hams try to direct their
business where they know their fellow ham cares, even if it costs a little
more for better, or more honest representation of, quality and service.
Otherwise, you will see an even greater "fall out rate" and then you will see
less service, less quality and higher prices. Tnx for lettin me sound off.

PS If you want to get added to our Email list (infrequent specials, price
changes, tech notes, no spam) just "email list" in the subject. If catalog
request "catalog" in subject (see our site first b-4 asking for catalog which
is a duplicate.... Uncle Sam is killin us on these postal rates). NOTE:
Prices on wires # 511 and 541 are WRONG, too high, email us. If you have
already put yourself on the Email list in the last 45 days, you're OK, we
haven't done the first Email yet. HI !! Cheers, Steve
