Hi Jim:

I have a G1000SDX which has been working very well since 1993.  The only
problem I had at my old qth is the same as yours.  When ever the 2m packet rig
transmitted my control head needle would move.  However, it did not move the
rotor itself.

I never took the time to cure it.  If I did I would get some ferrit beads on
each rotor control lead inside the control head as well as a couple of large
ones around the rotor cable itself behind the control head.

As it turned out the cause was my Ameritron RCS-4 remote switch.  I found when
the switch was out of the circuit the problem would go away.  Its possible that
the rf was getting to the control head from my control switch for the RCS-4.
