My comment about the Unidilla traps agrees with a previous comment;
i.e. the plastic coil form splits over time even when still new, never
used, in the box.
I have new in the box(es) two KW-40 (7.150 MHz) coils and two
KW-20 (14.175 MHz) coils. The 20 M set have minor splits as
discussed.
I'm not going to use them. Not because they are split but because I
have plenty of room for full sized wire antennas for 160, 80, & 40
meters and don't need to use traps. I purchased them for a past
field day operation but they weren't needed. My current FD antenna
doesn't use traps either.
All four trap coils with instruction sheets are available for $35
plus 2 bucks towards the U.S. Postage.
