This will be of interest to those owners (or prospective owners) of the
Cushcraft XM-240 antenna:

I am about to install a new Cushcraft XM-240 and was looking through the
brochure at the dimensions listed in their "Chart A".  The pictorial drawing of
the driven element and reflector are shown in "Figure 2A".  The drawing
indicates that the element half length is measured from the centerline of the
insulating section between the two element halves.  A number of factors caused
me to question the driven element measurement.  I wrote a brief E-Mail to
Cushcraft Technical Support and asked them to clarify if the element half length
is taken from the centerline of the insulating section (as shown in the drawing)
or at the beginning of the aluminium section identified as "EH".  Cushcraft very
quickly responded that the drawing is in error and that the element half length
is derived from the beginning of section "EH" to the element tip.  Hats off to
Cushcraft for their quick response.  Certainly nice to see that some companies
still believe in the concept of Customer Service.  Hope this posting saves
someone a headache or two.
