I can attest to this. I buried 7 300' sections of 75 ohm CATV hardline 4
years ago. I am now down to 3 sections that are still usable. It is my
assumption that the cable has accumulated moisture and in fact ( since it is
not below the frost line here in the
Rochester NY area) that it may have in fact ruptured due to freezing
expansion. I plan on digging it all back up this coming summer and putting
more back in. Given the low expense of the cable (free) I don't mind the
work every 4 years or so.

The only caution with air dielectric cables is that they may accumulate
moisture, and eventually water, if they're not
pressurized. For direct burial you would be far better with a closed cell
foam dielectric coax like our LMR-600-DB
Watertight Flexible Coax or any of the corrugated copper cables.
The Aircell does likely require special connectors as do any of the low loss
high velocity cables whether the corrugated
copper or LMR. There are a number of manufacturers supplying corrugated
copper cable connectors and there are a number
of manufacturers that make connectors for LMR coax.
