Disregard this. I should have known better - I'm only remembering the
better experiences. The only time this was a problem was when the pump
wasn't working correctly or the mix inconsistent. Then the pipeline had to
be dismantled and concrete within removed quickly before it set in the
pipes. Fortunately these experiences were rare.
The pump lines were cleaned out by inserting a rolled up sack into the
pipeline at the pump using this as a pipeline pig to push the remaining
concrete out of the pipeline to clean it out. You could calculate the
volume of concrete in the line and make an adjustment to volume in the pour.
