My modest tower is ready to go up this weekend (I thought).
The last of my ordered parts arrived yesterday. One problem,
I got the wrong rotor cable. I have an 800 yaesu which requires
6 con. x 20 ga. for up to 125' and 18ga for longer runs. Texas Towers
was out of that and I let them substitute 8 con. (2 x 18 ga. & 6 x 22 ga.).
The
sales rep said it would work if I connected the 18 ga. on the motor wires
and used the 22 ga. for the rest. The wire will need to be about 115'.
No one local has anything close to what I need for this and I want to avoid
climbing the tower after installation (I have a back problem). I have
volunteers
for this weekend so would like to get things up if possible.
Any thoughts or suggestions??
