Simple Harmonic Motion is not simple but it can be the best anology to
SWR. I think that most of what has been said has confused me. VSWR, I
thought is the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio which is the ratio of the E
(max) to E (min) along the line or (A+B)/(A-B), where A= [(R + Z)**2 +
X**)] **1/2 and B is where R-Z. The ratio is simple, the numbers may be
complex.

I liken it to a musical string when plucked, if not resonant the string is
upset and attenuates the energy by putting it into the blocks, if not it
will sound for some time.

That is the way I look at it.
