David,

You should use solid wire or flat copper strap.

You should use as large a ground wire as you can afford!
Size 00 wire is fine, of course, if you have the Cadweld molds for it.

The spec is in the latest TIA/EIA - 222 - XX

The 1996 spec is: TIA/EIA-222F and specifies #6 or larger diameter wire.

I used #4 wire at the tower to the ground rods.
