In all my years of ham radio hobby, owning several towers, albeit small ones 50
to 70 footers, I have never found a dead bird at the tower base. Rather, I
enjoy watching the birds that come in to my feeders and then perch on the
antennas and sing! Antenna make a great bird sanctuary.
