City), I happened to catch an article on the Coast Guard's tower climbing
school in Kodiak, AL.  They teach tower climbing techniques and tower rescue.

A couple of points they made were that you should be attached to the tower at
all times (amazing how many people climb free style), and that a tower should
be inspected thoroughly at least every 2 years.
