Let's say (as an example) that your antenna mismatch and cable lenght
result in 20% of transmitted power being lost in the cable. When you run
100W, that's 20W. If you transmit 1500W, that's 300W.

Provided that the loss is somewhat distributed over the lenght of the
cable, 20W is no big deal. 300W would be.
