Another reason most permitting bodies want PE or SE stamps from one who
is licensed with the local state is that that person should have more
thorough and working knowledge of the local soil conditions. The soil
varies so widely from state to state, one can not expect an engineer in
CA to have a working knowledge of the clay conditions in IL or the rock
in MA or the sand in FL. Just because the foundation will theoretically
hold up the tower, "typical" soil is assumed when performing these
calcs. The local engineer will merely apply their knowledge of local
soil conditions. So all should expect to have to obtain a stamp from a
local engineer for a permit and you may want it yourself, for peace of

A jurisdiction asking for calculations by a PE are likely to want them
to be "wet sealed."
There are "wet" seals (where the PE's seal is applied to a drawing or
a calculation), and "dry" seals (where you submit a copy
