Just read this and wondered, does ChromeMoly really need to be
hot dip galvanized, or treated in any way?

Also, I may have stumbled upon a local source of ChromeMoly (someone
I met knows of a racing car shop nearby). Is $250. a reasonable
price to pay for a 20 foot length of ChromeMoly for a mast?

For Sale - Mast - Chrome Moly - 20 ft. X 2"
The mast consists of 16 ft. of 2.0" O.D. x .200" wall plus a welded top section of 4.5 ft. of 1.6" O.D. x .160" wall. Overall length - 20 ft.-6". The entire Cr-Mo mast was hot dip galvanized and is un-used. Prefer pick-up in Santa Barbara, CA., but will ship. Price - $250.00
