The Telrex VHF beams were VERY well built and lasted many,
many years,
unlike their HF Monobanders and Tri-Banders.

After MFJ took over Hy-Gain, I purchased a 4 element 6 meter
beam and
mounted it at 110ft and the first Iowa winter that it was
up, I lost three
1/2 elements! >>

Ummm...I don't get it.

Hygain also used the name Telex. The Telex line was never
sold to MFJ.

MFJ had some very cheap poorly designed antennas they rolled
into the Hygain line.

Telrex was an old company that had nothing to do with Hygain
or Telex. They made things much better than old cheap
companies like Gotham. Telrex's engineering was certainly
lacking on some products, like baluns and the big 40M
antenna I bought.
