Well let me tell you about the problem I had in Ocala Florida...Found some nice
land..real estate agent said fine with the tower..I made a few calls from here
in Oklahoma to local hams in Ocala..All said fine no problems..But I wanted to
be sure..so I called the zoning dept in the county..oh boy..everyone was
wrong..50 ft..over 50 ft buy a permit..have two hearings..That was enough for
me..all the do gooder's would come out of the woodwork for one of those
meetings..
So we backed out of that deal..I've been a ham 50 years and enjoy my radio to
much for that..My wife wanted to live back in Florida where she was born...So
to make a long story short and after two more back out of deals..we now have
land in the boonies..in Florida...with a lot of tree's..peace and quiet..and 25
miles from Wal-mart..What a place for tall tower and lots of wires..this is my
idea of a happy ham..its not for everyone..but it is for me..
Be sure and call the zoning dept and check on line..some county's have their
zoning laws on a nice web site..DON'T TAKE ANYONE'S WORD FOR IT...
Now life is good..wife's not to happy...but then I've not seen may women happy
all the time..73s Bob W5RG
