Us not so old farts have used a part from a BMW automobile drive link to do
the same thing. Two flat and round metal plates with rubber 
bushings.  It serves the same purpose as the spring.   I am not old 
enough to have ever heard of a motorcycle spring.  Front fork?  73 bob de
