Neither the series nor the parallel model is correct, except at one 
frequency.  At any one frequency, one is equivalent to the other, with 
proper adjustment of the values.  I suggest the parallel model as a tool 
for envisioning the circuit, as it displays a DC path as well as paths 
for all the AC (including RF) components.
