Try two parallel dipoles a few meters apart and in the same horizontal
plane. Make one dipole a bit longer or shorter than the other. You should
see a definite change in the pattern.
You might not see a huge change in your situation, especially if you're
just looking at main lobe gain. Interactions will usually manifest
themselves more as nulls filling in or F/B going worse. Also, look at the
vertical pattern. Even huge interactions won't change forward gain all
that much, unless it screws up the coupling among the elements.
