TT Gang...

Relocating QTH here in VA BCH...

Have plans on 20 sq feet of antenna on my 2" .25 walled 18
foot chrome moly mast....

What is a "safe" amount of mast to have IN the tower? It is
45G with of course double thrust bearing install.

Currently, I have it configured with 8 feet in the
tower...and it has been on 25G for two years, one hurricane
(100 + mph winds)....but would like to put as much ABOVE the
tower safely as possible....ideally for me about 15
feet......But I don't feel the "numbers" support only 3 feet
in the tower...and looks like 4 would be the minimum...

But if the current 8 is best to keep the "forces" where the
"have" been...then so be it....But with the cost of CM
mast...<smiling> would like to use as much as I can!!!!

Thanks!

Jose - N4BAA
