then there is the old half square alternative, which is a dipole fed like
a dipole with a half wave stuck on the end. as a straight wire and 
sloped at about 35 degrees and you have a low angle fairly broad antenna,
my antenna of choice as it were, see 1970 ARRL Antenna Book, page 173.
good antenna for the top of te hill.............
