[TowerTalk] Inv. L support coupling to counterpoise

I have a question for those of you who operate with inverted Ls or any other 
suspended monopole configuration held over a counterpose by a metal support 
structure.   As you are probably aware, a significant amount of current is 
induced in the support due to its polarization and close location to the 
driven wire(s) it is holding up.    Do you bond this structure to your 
counterpoise so this induced current can be included in the return?  It 
seems to me that this would improve efficiency and I'm wondering if anyone 
has experimented with this, or is bonding your tower or mast holding your 
inverted L. etc. to your radials standard practice?
Note for obvious reasons i'm not including shunt fed towers and other folded 
monopoles in this question since in those cases the tower must be both part 
of the driven element and grounded to the counterpose.
