How rugged does it need to be?
Can he put a couple guys on it?
How ugly can it be?
Almost any inexpensive pole would probably work (TV mast? flagpole? 
Bamboo?) if you can put a couple guys in the direction opposite of the antenna.

Used Telephone poles?
(sometimes, these can be had very inexpensively, but it's definitely right 
place at the right time scenario)
