The raising fixture on my TX472 has a 2 to 1 mechanical advantage. The cable
end is attached to the top of the fixture, goes thru a pulley attached to
the tower, back thru a pulley at the top of the fixture, then down to the
winch. The winch is a worm gear type and sees only half of the raising force
required at the tower attach point. 73, Dan, N5AR

Unfortunately the manufacturer has discontinued the product. Harry, I would
be interested in anything that you get off the reflector for use with the
HG-54HD that I just bought. In the manual for the HG-70HD there is a
drawing for making a wooden "gin pole" to use in the "falling derrick"
method of raising & lowering the tower. I am interested in something a
little more permanent.

Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.
