Ever wonder how a 48' boom 150# antenna gets from ground level to 180'?
This weekend you may get a chance to get some practical experience in how
its done. I am almost ready to lift the new 4 element 40m m2 antenna up the
tower, and this weekend the weather is looking reasonable enough to plan for
it. I am hoping that either Friday evening or Saturday morning to remove
the old antennas and raise the 10m and 2m antennas up to the tower, then
depending on how the wx looks and how things go, hopefully raise the 40m one
either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. I will need a few hands to
help with this on the ground, mostly light rope pulling. If someone has a
good digital camera to take pictures that would be nice also. I like to get
started early in the morning to avoid afternoon thunder showers and winds,
if possible I like to head up the tower by 8am. Please let me know if you
are interested in coming. Directions are on my web site. Over night
accommodations are available if you have a long drive and don't want to miss
anything. Plenty of radios available for before or after the work.
