Hello all,
We all need to remember that JC's base was not just a simple hole in the
ground but had 81 square feet of bottom contact alone, not counting side areas.
The rebar was to be bonded to the copper pipe conductor and was not the sole
conductor. Obviously a coil of wire in the bottom of a 3x3 hole is not the same
as 20 feet in a trench or bonded to a foundation rebar grid which can have many
hundreds of feet of iron rebar.
That Ufers depend on capacitance as much or more than resistance might be
going off on the wrong road. It woulod apply more to a AC current than a DC
one. The beinfit of concrete is less than the average soil resistance.( greater
permisivity)

As many have stated none of this will help prevent a strike with your name on
it and that if one owl doesn't keep the birds off then you need to add more
owls. Eventually you will reach the no bird steady state.:-)
