I can answer for the City of Dallas; there is a very strong ordinance that
supports amateur radio towers, and provided you comply with all of the
required setbacks and paper work, you can go to 90 feet with a special
permit, or to 60 feet with compliance.
But you'll could need an acre for a 90 foot tall tower, if you want
to put a 40 foot radius antenna, because of setbacks:
you need 40 feet for the antenna, 30 feet for a front yard setback
(and a corner lot has two front yards), and additional setback of
one foot for each 18 inches above the 42 foot unrestricted height
for accessory structure - amateur communications tower).
To go to 90 feet, you'd need 40+30+32 = 100 feet in all four directions,
or 40,000 square feet(an acre is 43560 square feet) of property.
To go to 60 feet, you'd only need about 25,000 square feet.
And both of those are for a 2-el forty with 40 foot radius;
having only a 25-foot radius tribander would require even
less lot size.

and others, who live out where there no restrictions, should also
give you some answers.
